Zane's Bio - a good man… a great man… a guitar man…

Mr Hughes was born into a very musical family. His father was the guitar playing front man in the 4 piece grunge band Contact. It was growing up submerged in this rock culture that Zane found his appreciation for everything loud. The foundation of Hughes's sound was formed during early childhood with endless car-ride karaoke’s, spontaneous living room jams, and whatever his cooler older brothers were blaring through the bedroom speakers. It was from this that Classic Rock and Punk outfits such as The Living End, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, etc. quickly established themselves as top picks on Zane's long list of influences.

The Hughes household was never a quiet one, whether it be the loud smashing of drums or practicing guitar midily-midily’s, sound and music have always played a part in daily living. Out of 4 children Zane was the second youngest, 2 older brothers and one younger sister 2 years his junior. Due to his older brothers playing guitar, bass and drums, a pressure was ignited within Mr Hughes not to be the last melon, a music-less melon with no instrument to his name. Zane then took to teaching himself, dedicating many a long nights to practicing the 6 stringed beast, his aim was to progress as much as he could in as little time as possible, catch up for the missed years, and become the best guitar melon man.

Over the years Zane’s musical taste has adapted along with his musical influences, maintaining the raw aggression of rock and roll, Hughes has grown to appreciate the significance of melody, poetic intentional lyricism and authenticity. More recently Zane has been focusing to incorporate different jazz/blues chords, while focusing to write honest and meaningful lyrics in his own personal rock compositions, progressing and developing his own sound.
