Gill's Bio - The Birth of a Bass Player
It was the year of 2006 and a young boy named Gill heard his sister playing piano before school. Gill listened and got jealous as he wanted to play piano also. He begged his mum to let him start learning an instrument. It was that year that he started playing piano but later on that year he discovered the drums. Fast-forward to 2012 and he has used those skills and knowledge and applied himself to learning the bass guitar and it consumed him. Time has moved on and Gill now finds himself making music with the members of Sounds Tusail.
The journey wasn’t that simple though. Throughout this journey Gill has been in many bands. One of which is the Shake It Up bigband where he played the trombone. This was back when he was 10. Years have continued to fly past and he is now in Grade 11 music with very basic bass skills. That year rolled around fast and it was time for Gill to start rehearsing for Retro Night, one of his first big performances. As the song choices rolled in, he realized that his current bass skills would not suffice for such bass lines so he began practicing more complex tabs until his fingers blistered and after many weeks he was ready. Since then much has happened from writing his first original to making a music demo with his band Sounds Tusail. Gill’s future is unknown and unpredictable but one thing is for sure. Music will always follow him where he goes.
